The AWB prefix 186 identifies Air Namibia as the issuing carrier for the airway bill document. The 7-digit serial number following the prefix is the unique shipment identifier assigned by Air Namibia's cargo system. The final digit is a check digit calculated using the mod-7 method - divide the 7-digit serial by 7 and use the remainder (for example, serial 1234567 ÷ 7 = remainder 5, making the complete AWB 186-12345675).
